I. OBJECTIVE OF THE BACOOR SENIOR CITIZENS To provide assistance and support to the needs and well-being of the Senior Citizens of BAGONG BACOOR thru meaningful plans and program. II. COVERAGE The Senior Citizens in Bacoor is composed of 73 Barangays with ages 60 and above. III. LAWS 1. An amendment of RA 7432 (1991) this law was enacted to give full support to the improvement of the total well being of senior citizens and their full participation in society considering that the are an integral part of the Philippine society. It expanded the coverage of the benefits and privileges of senior citizens and mandated an older person to be the head of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA). 2. ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER (AO) NO. 177 S. 2004 of the Department of Health. This AO was issued to guide the drugs store, hospitals and other medical establishment in providing fair, just and quality health care to senior citizens. It also aims to pursue financial viability for hospitals, amidst economic and financial management constraints. 3. REPUBLIC ACT (RA) 7876 (1994) mandates the establishment of a center for senior citizens in LGUs to serve as a venue for the recreational, educational, health and social programs designed for the full enjoyment and benefits of the senior citizens. IV. BENEFITS RA 9257 provide the senior citizens with a 20% (twenty percent) discount on food, medicine, hospitalization, transportation and other expenses on services. It also grants the senior citizens a number of privileges such as provision of employment, free skills training and education among many others. Mayor Strike B. Revilla, upon assumption of the office, made effective the RA 9254 for Bacoor, stating the added benefits of FREE MOVIE WATCHING BENEFIT twice (2x) a week every Monday and Tuesday. V. ACCOMPISHMENT AND SERVICES: 1. Organizations of the Senior Citizens Associations in Barangays are still continuing Organized associations: -IN BARANGAYS - 69 -HOMEOWNERS - 6___ 75 Note: No association in following Barangays: NIOG III MAMBOG III SALINAS IV ZAPOTE V 2. Total Number of the no new ID’s released------------3,227 (Released started-February) Total senior booklets released------------ 3,227 3. Total number of complaints, conflict solved, as follows a. Senior vs. KFC b. Incident inside cinema 2, Molino c. Conflicts in Molino 5, Talaba 1, Malipay, Panapaan IV, Queens Row Central,Queens Row West and Talaba 3. 4. Attended inductions, meetings and other activities related to OSCA 5. Total number of senior aged 70 and above who received the “KATAS NG VAT”-----------------1,193 Total number KATAS Senior receipt yet to be Received by the senior of Bacoor---------950 6. OSCA personnel join the Municipal Caravan activities from April to December 2008. 7.
